FIRST DAY OF FILMING

First day of filming: outside and inside of the church

For the religious theme of the title sequence, we chose to film at a church and capture the religious imagery that we can use in contrast to the other themes and also to create a sense of innocence and purity which reflects the character who the film would eventually be based on.

We captured shots of the graveyard which was located behind the church, but after reviewing all the shots we came to a conclusion that the lighting and mise en scene doesn't go well with the other shots so we decided not to use them.

RELIGION

We focus mainly on the theme of religion throughout the whole title sequence. we do this to establish the mood and also give an insight to what the movie would be about. the theme of religion is portrayed through imagery such as churches, stained glass windows, the holy bible and also other religious icons.





SEX AND SEDUCTION

the theme of sex and impurity is going to contrasted with the theme of innocence.  this is significant in terms of the storyline and also what the movie will be about. we intend to use very disturbing and some subtle imagery of sex and seduction.





INNOCENCE AND PURITY

we will represent the theme of purity through the colour white, and lilies in particular. the flower is symbolic as suggests modesty and virginity but is also used at funerals. we intend to juxtapose the idea of innocence with death.

The contrast between the themes and also the visuals e.g light and dark will be present throughout the title sequence.

VIOLENCE


The theme of violence is very significant as it is a vital part of the story, and I feel it should be reflected throughout the title sequence to establish the atmosphere and hint at the storyline.
